  • What are the membership transaction fees?
    One time set-up fee: $2.30 Transaction Fee: 0.92 cents for Bank account or 2.48% for Credit/Debit card Failed payment fee: $4.60
  • Will buying a membership online give me instant access?
    Absolutely! We've streamlined the process so you can start working out straight away. After signing up, you'll receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to download GymMaster Members app to set up Bluetooth access using your phone. If you prefer a physical key tag you may purchase one from reception during staffed hours for $15.
  • When are staffed hours and facility walkthroughs?
    Yes, during staffed hours. Monday – Thursday 12:00pm – 7:30pm Friday 12:00pm – 6:00pm Saturday 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • What payment types do you accept?
    Online we accept credit card, debit card or bank account direct debit. At reception we accept all of the above plus cash.
  • Can I trial the gym?
    Open to Christchurch residents only. $10 for 5 consecutive days 24/7access.
  • What’s the minimum age to join?
    The minimum age to become a Member at Affinity is 16 Years of age. Any person age 16 or 17 must have a parent or guardian co-sign the Agreement to join Affinity if you intend to join on a Weekly contract. Paid-in-full (PIF) Memberships do not require a guardian's signature.
  • Once signed up, how do I sign my Bring-a-Friend into the gym?
    You can either add this during the initial sign up with our Ultimate add on or add it later at reception. Important notes:
 1. The first time your friend visits they will have to enter their details by using the wall-mounted iPad at reception > first time friend > enter details (including emergency contact)

 2. Once complete, You will Swipe your key at the bring-a-friend scanner above the reception iPad when your friend each time your friend is visiting the gym with you. 

 3. Bring-A-Friend allows you to bring 1 friend each time you train. 

 4. KEYS / DIGITAL KEYS ARE NOT TO BE SHARED WITH YOUR FRIEND. THEY MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY YOU 5. You may have a maximum number of two friends associated with your membership at any time. To add/remove friends from your membership please ask at reception.
  • Once signed up, how do I book my 3D body scan?
    You can book it on your mobile app (GymMaster Members), or book online here
  • I've signed up online, how do I access the gym? when can I collect the key?
    Welcome aboard! Kindly check your email for a link to download the GymMaster App. This App will act as your entry Digital entry key granting your access to our facility 24/7. 1. To get your Digital access key to the gym you will need to open and login to the app with the same Email username and Password you used when purchasing a membership. 2. To Enter you will need to click the Bluetooth Key function at the bottom of the App and hold this near the Key reader (BE SURE NOT TO HOLD TO CLOSE!). There are two entry doors at Affinity. One to access the building and the next to access the gym. You will need to SCAN both to enter. (REMEMBER TO ENABLE BLUETOOTH). 3. Below are the links to the GymMaster App on the Apple and Google play store. Gym key purchase is available during our office hours: Monday – Thursday 12:00pm – 7:30pm Friday 12:00pm – 6:00pm Saturday 10:00am – 2:00pm If these times don't suit your schedule, please reach out to us, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
  • How do I use my free PT session?
    ypically, one of our personal trainers will reach out to you within a week of signup. However, if you prefer, you can proactively choose a personal trainer who aligns with your goals and preferences. Take a look at their specialties on our PT page, and feel free to contact them via email, text, or a quick call to schedule a session at a convenient time. Your chosen personal trainer will then guide you through the process from there.

  • Can I bring a friend and how many can I have?
    To enjoy the benefit of bringing a friend along, simply add the bring-a-friend add-on to your membership for an additional $4.99 per week. Please note that a minimum term of one month applies. For detailed information on the signup process, please refer to our dedicated bring-a-friend page.
  • How to update my billing details
    Please log in to Member's Portal Account > Update Billing Info If you are paying by bank account, you might wonder...what's account BSB? The first 6 number of your bank account. e.g. your account number is: 12-3456-7777888-99 Account BSB: 123456 Account Number: 777788899 (no "-", no space between the numbers when you enter)
  • How long can I hold membership?
    If you need to take a break from your membership, you have the option to put it on hold for a maximum of three months per year. It's important to note that if you are paying weekly or fortnightly, this hold period will extend your minimum term accordingly. To proceed with placing your membership on hold, a hold fee of $25 applies. You can conveniently apply for the hold by accessing our hold form.
  • How to cancel an add-on?

  • How to cancel membership?
    Please get in touch with us either via email or social media, we will send you a cancellation form.
  • Can I transfer my membership?
    Yes, you can. To transfer your membership to another person, both you and the individual you're transferring it to will need to visit our reception during office hours. Our team will facilitate the transfer process for you. Please be aware that a transfer fee of $30 will apply. If the office hours are not suitable for you, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to assist you and find a solution that works best for your circumstances.
